OPENING A SPECIAL COFFEE SHOP (PART 1) WITH KARIN YORK

Today’s guest is Karin York, is an Academic Intervention Specialist in the Dysart Unified School District, located in Surprise, Arizona. She and her family are creating a neighborhood coffee shop for her son Spencer, and other adults with autism to be able to work at and gain skills for long term employment.

This is the first in a series of interviews as we join them on their journey.

What 3 big steps have you accomplished so far?

  1. Acquired the building. Signed the contract for the space.
  2. The City are reviewing the preliminary plans. ADA approved bathroom.
  3. Established a GoFund Me and Non-Profit
