Brought To You By:

Tobias Forrest, is an actor and producer, known for the TV show Weeds (2005), and the movies The Sessions (2012) Special Unit (2017). His unique journey as an individual with a spinal cord injury (1998) has provided him a special perspective on actors with disabilities. He began acting a few years later by winning The Christopher Reeve Acting Scholarship.

Sharing his personal opinions of the portrayal of a quadriplegic billionaire by Bryan Cranston in the movie “The Upside”, Tobias emphasis the importance of increased opportunities for persons with disabilities in all available acting roles.

KEY POINTS
Tips for someone considering becoming an actor:

  • Ask yourself “Do I have the disease?” – the absolute passion to perform?
    “I can’t NOT perform.”
  • Experience – Say “YES” to all opportunities. Get exposure.
  • Create – Don’t wait for someone else to say they “need” you. Get people to say “we hear you, we want you”.
