Givona Sandiford

Givona A. Sandiford, Ph.D., CCC/SLP, is an author, app developer, and licensed speech–language pathologist with over ten years of experience working with individuals with autism and other speech/language disorders. She holds a research doctorate in Rehabilitation Sciences, a M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology and a B.S. in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. Dr. Sandiford has served as a speech–language pathologist in multiple settings. She has also served as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Autism and Developmental Disorders. She is the developer of Melodic Based Communication Therapy (M.B.C.T.), which was the subject of her dissertation research. Her research on M.B.C.T. for nonverbal autism was the recipient of the LLU School of Allied Health Professions 2013 Outstanding Doctoral Research Award and has been published in and cited by multiple publications in peer–reviewed journals. She has presented on this topic nationwide. Dr. Sandiford recently had the opportunity to act as a panelist at the 2017 Health Technology Forum Innovation Conference at Stanford University where she advocated for the appropriate use of technology to improve a patient's access to care. Dr. Sandiford is the founder of MeloComm Speech and Language Therapy - where melody is a bridge to communication. She is the developer of multiple apps for iOS and Android operating systems to assist in the treatment of speech and language impairments including the bestselling MBCT-First Phrases and Self-Analysis of Stuttering: Elementary - Adult (SAS:EA) apps.
